Nurturing Land.
Uplifting Lives.
We believe true luxury should leave the earth better than we found it. Through our partnership with Te WhΔngai Trust, every order you place directly funds the growth and planting of eco-sourced native trees, restoring Aotearoa New Zealand's biodiversity while providing supported employment pathways for vulnerable communities.
The Power of Double Restoration
Founded on the principle of "Ka whakatupu ki te whenua, ka ora ki te iwi" (Nurture the land and give life to the people), Te WhΔngai Trust integrates environmental stewardship with transformative social support. Their unique model simultaneously addresses ecological degradation and youth unemployment.
Instead of planting generic pine or commercial monoculture forests, the Trust propagates over 70 native New Zealand plant species in their nurseries. These eco-sourced plants are selected specifically for each planting site to maximize biological diversity, stabilize waterways, and rebuild natural habitats.
This physical restoration is made possible by the hands of participants in the Trustβs workforce development program. Vulnerable youths, school leavers, and individuals transitioning from the corrections system gain practical skills, life coaching, and NZQA qualifications while earning a living wage.
How the Trust Uplifts Communities
Supported Pathways
Providing a safe "village" of support, one-on-one mentoring, and crucial life skills training for youth and individuals facing systemic barriers to entering the workforce.
Earn While You Learn
Participants engage in hands-on nursery operations and field conservation work, gaining valuable NZQA certifications and industry experience while earning a living wage.
Sustainable Futures
Building work ethic, personal pride, and confidence, leading to high rates of placement in long-term jobs, apprenticeships, or further educational qualifications.
“Ka whakatupu ki te whenua, ka ora ki te iwi.”
"Nurture the land and give life to the people." Together, we combine environmental stewardship with social responsibility. By providing mentoring, training, and qualifications to people facing barriers, we restore both our native landscapes and human lives.
Landscapes of Hope
These spacious frames are reserved to showcase the natural ecosystems supported by our partnership. As native seedlings grow, they protect waterways, sequester carbon, and provide habitats for local wildlife.
Wetland & Estuary Reforestation
Rebuilding native wetland margins using kahikatea and harakeke (flax). These plantings filter agricultural runoff, stabilize fragile soil banks, and restore spawning grounds for native whitebait (inanga).
Lowland Forest Regeneration
Planting long-lived forest giants like totara, rimu, and kahikatea. Over decades, these species sequester significant carbon, re-establish ancient canopies, and restore native bird corridors across regions.
